Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Ellen. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master’s Degree in counseling from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. I've worked as a counselor in various settings for the past decade, and currently I work with young adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and life transition challenges. I believe that mental health is the key to a happy, fulfilling, and purposeful life, and everyone deserves that.

My approach to therapy

I typically work from a client-centered and cognitive behavioral framework, though I tailor interventions to the individual needs of my clients.

What you can expect from me

I work on the premise of Hope Theory - that the two things necessary for hope (hope for progress, hope for personal growth) are 1) motivation and 2) Waypower - clarity on what the path forward looks like. In my experience, most people come to counseling with a desire for change in their lives, but they are often unclear on how to make that change happen. My aim is to help clients to establish clarity, not only on what their personal goals are but also on the steps that will help them get there.
