Great to meet you!

I have been a licensed clinical social worker in Colorado since 2003. Therapy, like many things in life, is not linear, but it doesn't mean that progress is not occurring. Sometimes progress can look like just showing up for your session and sometimes it can be gaining new insights and revelations. I will help you rediscover your own inner healing power through exploration of your current struggles and creating a roadmap for change. I frequently work from a "parts" perspective, honoring all parts of yourself in that they all serve a functional role, but you may have outgrown the need for that part to be so active or in control. We will then work together to get to know these parts and understand their roles before seeking to lessen or increase their function. We may also focus on somatic expressions of distress and seeking healthier outlets for you. I especially enjoy working with women going through life transitions and/or struggling with healing from intergenerational or early trauma.

My approach to therapy

I start from a place of deep belief in an individual's innate, inner healing capacity. Emanating from this belief, I invite you to enter into an authentic, integrative, therapeutic relationship from which we will work collaboratively to help you achieve your goals. I work in a client-centered manner, diving into any past trauma as warranted and helping you connect or reconnect parts of yourself that may be unaligned and working in opposition to your greater good. We will develop a path to enhance your healing and work both verbally and somatically, focusing on both the past and present as change opportunities.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to receive a warm, connective presence focused on your personal growth and healing. My only goal is your improved well-being, but it may take going through some discomfort to get there. This is sometimes a part of the process and can be a sign that therapy is working which may seem counterintuitive. We will remain open, flexible and fluid in our work together, and I will challenge you at times if stagnation appears.
