Great to meet you!

When people aren't sleeping well, almost everything else becomes harder to manage.

Stress feels heavier. Emotions feel bigger. Relationships become more challenging. Even the coping skills that normally work can start to fall apart.

I'm Dr. Emanuel Sánchez-Santiago, a bilingual Clinical Psychologist providing therapy in both English and Spanish. I specialize in helping adults navigate insomnia and sleep difficulties, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, grief, major life transitions, and the emotional impact of chronic stress. I also have extensive experience supporting veterans, LGBTQIA+ individuals, survivors of domestic violence and sexual trauma, and people adjusting to significant changes in health, identity, or relationships.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling exhausted—physically, emotionally, or both. Together, we work to understand what's keeping them stuck and build a path toward greater stability, resilience, and well-being.

My approach to therapy

I believe effective therapy should be both compassionate and purposeful. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based treatment that is tailored to your unique experiences and goals.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Interpersonal Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I focus on understanding how different areas of your life—relationships, health, culture, identity, sleep, and emotional well-being—interact with one another.

Whether you're struggling with recurring trauma responses, difficulty sleeping, grief, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, our work will focus on practical strategies that create meaningful change while also helping you better understand yourself.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get a clear picture of what has been bringing you to therapy and what you hope will be different moving forward.

Many of my clients arrive feeling overwhelmed by stress, exhausted by poor sleep, stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, or carrying experiences they have never fully processed. Together, we identify both immediate concerns and long-term goals, creating a treatment plan that feels realistic and personalized.

Over time, clients often report improved sleep, greater emotional regulation, stronger coping skills, healthier relationships, and a deeper understanding of the factors influencing their mental and emotional well-being. My goal is to help you build lasting skills and confidence so that therapy becomes a foundation for long-term growth rather than a temporary solution.

If you're feeling exhausted by stress, struggling with sleep, carrying the weight of past experiences, or navigating a major life transition, therapy can help. You don't have to figure it all out alone. I would be honored to support you in building a healthier, more balanced, and more fulfilling path forward.
