My approach to therapy

I focus on understanding your point of view to foster a therapeutic relationship . We may explore options and strategies to address the obstacles. I believe in pulling from experiences of others while checking in with your capacity by being present, allowing space for growth and healing. I may make suggestions, recommendations or present possible opportunities to encourage growth. I may use humor and music which can be great therapeutic tools. I typically use various methods in session and to track your progress. I have a wealth of experiences working with issues related to sadness, anxiousness, substance use, racial and relationship challenges.

What you can expect from me

During our first session we can take some time to for me to understand some of your challenges, strengths and interests. I would also give you some additional background information about myself and how I work in session, expectations, and developing safety and treatment plans while having fun in the process.
