Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Emileigh! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked in the mental health field since 2020 with children, teens, and adults of all genders, backgrounds, and identities. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University, and I have also served as a Clinical Director and supervised counseling interns. I believe strongly in dignity, cultural humility, and creating a practice where people from all backgrounds and identities feel valued and understood; outside of work, I love coffee, sunshine, the beach, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, holistic, and grounded in creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely welcomed. I draw from Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, DBT, IFS, and Eye Movement Integration (EMI), while incorporating somatic approaches and elements of art and play therapy when appropriate. I’m especially passionate about working with trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, life transitions, and self-worth. I enjoy helping clients better understand the connection between their experiences, emotions, and bodies while developing practical tools they can use in everyday life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session and moving forward, my goal is to create an environment of peace, kindness, stability, and safety where you can be yourself without judgment. We’ll begin getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to therapy, and exploring the goals and changes you hope to work toward. I want therapy to feel collaborative, so we’ll work together to identify what feels most helpful and meaningful for you. You can expect compassion, curiosity, and a focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship from the very beginning.
