Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Emily. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) specializing in relationships, family systems, substance use, and co-occurring mental health challenges. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, ADHD, identity exploration, grief, chronic illness, and end-of-life concerns.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by emotional ups and downs, struggling with relationship conflict, managing substance use concerns, or coping with co-occurring disorders like anxiety and depression alongside addiction. You may feel stuck in repeating family patterns, battling intrusive thoughts, experiencing mood instability, panic attacks, impulsivity, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others.

With experience in inpatient treatment settings and diverse cultural environments, I bring a deep appreciation for the complexity of the human experience. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally responsive, and I approach each client with curiosity, compassion, and respect for their lived experience.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, systems-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Bowen Family Systems, Jungian analytical, and strength-based approaches. Because no two clients are the same, therapy is tailored to your specific needs and goals.

In our work together, we may explore family dynamics, attachment patterns, substance use triggers, trauma responses, mood instability, or communication breakdowns in relationships. I integrate psychoeducation with practical coping strategies to help you manage anxiety, depressive symptoms, anger, impulsivity, panic symptoms, and stress in healthier ways.

I also believe therapy can hold both depth and humanity. Humor, authenticity, and genuine connection are part of the process. Even when we’re discussing difficult or uncomfortable topics, you will be met with openness and without judgment.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on understanding what brings you to therapy and what challenges are most impacting your life right now — whether that’s relationship stress, substance use concerns, anxiety, bipolar symptoms, grief, identity questions, or family conflict.

I use reflective listening to ensure you feel heard and understood. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, clarifying goals, and outlining a collaborative treatment plan that feels realistic and empowering. My intention is for you to leave the first session feeling validated, supported, and hopeful — with a clearer sense that you are not alone and that meaningful change is possible.
