Great to meet you!

Hi there, and welcome. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your teenager, or your young child, I am so glad you’re taking this step.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist in Texas, working with clients of all ages—from 3 years old through adulthood. While I truly enjoy working across the lifespan, one of my greatest passions is supporting parents and caregivers. I know how overwhelming it can be when your child is struggling. My goal is to help you feel equipped and confident in responding to difficult behaviors and big emotions, all while protecting and strengthening the bond you share with your child.

I hold a Master's in Counseling and a PhD in Counselor Education from the University of North Texas, with specialized training in play therapy and parent-child relationships. I am deeply committed to providing a space where you and your family feel genuinely understood, accepted, and supported.

My approach to therapy

I firmly believe that you are the expert on your own life. My job isn't to hand out generic advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I provide an unconditionally accepting space where we can explore what is keeping you or your child stuck.

Because I work with such a wide range of ages, my approach adapts to what is most developmentally appropriate for each client:

  • For young children: I use Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). Because kids don't always have the words to explain how they feel, this allows them to use play—their natural language—to process emotions, heal, and build internal security.
  • For preteens and teens: I use activity-based therapy. We incorporate engaging, age-appropriate materials and creative activities so therapy feels approachable and never intimidating.
  • For adults: We use a collaborative, talking-based approach. While I don't give direct advice, I am very direct when it comes to gently pointing out the patterns I notice in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so we can understand how they are impacting your life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, my main priority is simply getting to know you and your family. We’ll take things at your pace as we talk about your story, your child's history, and what you are hoping to achieve. We'll also briefly go over how the counseling process works, just so you know exactly what to expect and feel completely comfortable.

From there, we will collaborate to create a clear, personalized plan. Finding the right therapist is so important, so if you feel that I am a great fit to support you or your family, we’ll schedule our next steps and begin working as a team to turn those goals into reality!
