Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Emily, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in addiction, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I earned my Psychology degree from George Mason University and my MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010. I’ve worked in various settings, including schools, hospitals, detox/residential, and intensive outpatient dual diagnosis treatment. Most recently, I provided individual therapy in a group practice from 2019 to 2025.

My approach to therapy

I take a holistic approach to therapy, exploring the connection between your mind, body, and lifestyle. We’ll look at how your habits and history influence your mental health while using methods like CBT, Humanistic therapy, Positive Psychology, and EMDR to support your unique goals. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I value open communication to help guide your growth. I think of therapy as an emotional gym, offering both relief and challenges for meaningful progress.

What you can expect from me

I’m dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood, which is key for productive therapy. My approach combines warmth, validation, and curiosity, creating a space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, while being gently challenged to grow. In early sessions we’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, your history and goals. Together, we’ll choose the best therapeutic approaches to support you and tailor our work to help you achieve your goals.
