Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that therapy should feel like a safe, welcoming space where you can be honest, understood, and accepted without judgment. I have experience working with Veterans, women, individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of trauma and domestic violence, and people navigating complex life circumstances. My work with the VA has included providing individual and group therapy, clinical assessments, safety planning, psychoeducation, and connecting clients with resources to help them move toward greater stability and well-being. I also have personal experience serving in the United States Navy, which has given me a unique understanding of military culture and the experiences that can come with service. Above all, I see my clients as the experts in their own lives. I’m relaxed, open-minded, and genuinely interested in getting to know the person behind the challenges they’re experiencing.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and empowering. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and systems theory, while tailoring treatment to each person’s individual needs and goals. I believe therapy should not be about telling you what you should do, but about helping you better understand yourself, identify what is and isn’t working, and build on the strengths and resources you already have. Together, we can explore patterns of thinking and behavior, develop practical coping strategies, work through anxiety, depression, stress, and women’s issues, and identify realistic steps toward meaningful change. I’m particularly passionate about supporting women and women Veterans as they navigate transitions, relationships, stress, trauma, identity, and the many roles and expectations that can feel overwhelming. My goal is to help you feel empowered—not dependent on therapy—to make changes that fit your values and your life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is primarily about getting to know each other and beginning to understand what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what you hope to get out of therapy, and what has or hasn’t been helpful for you in the past. I’ll ask questions about your current circumstances, relationships, strengths, stressors, and goals so that we can develop a fuller picture of what you need. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet, and you certainly don’t need to have the “right” answers. We’ll work together to identify where you’d like to begin and develop a plan that feels realistic and meaningful to you. My hope is that you leave our first session feeling heard, respected, and with a clearer sense that you don’t have to navigate everything on your own.
