Great to meet you!

With over 16 years of dedicated experience in the mental health and addiction recovery fields, I offer a compassionate, evidence-based approach to healing. I specialize in guiding individuals through the complexities of substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health challenges, and emotional trauma. Throughout my career, I have cultivated a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges. My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care, tailored specifically to meet your unique needs and goals. Whether you are seeking long-term recovery support or struggling with anxiety or depression, I am committed to walking alongside you toward lasting change and a fulfilled life.

My approach to therapy

As a Substance Use and Mental Health Counselor, I utilize an integrative, evidence-based approach designed to treat the whole person, rather than just the symptoms of addiction or mental health disorders. My counseling philosophy blends the person-centered, empowering nature of Narrative Therapy with the practical, skill-building focus of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the change-focused strategies of Motivational Interviewing (MI), and the resilience-driven principles of Positive Psychology.

What you can expect from me

Welcome. Taking the first step toward recovery and mental wellness takes courage, and it is completely normal to feel nervous. In our first session, my primary goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming environment where you feel heard and supported.

Here is what you can expect in our initial 50-60 minute session:

  • Introduction & Rapport Building: We will take time to get to know one another, ensuring you feel comfortable and understood.
  • Intake & Information Gathering: I will ask questions regarding your current situation, substance use patterns, mental health history, and life circumstances (such as work or family) to form a clear, comprehensive picture of your needs.
  • Goal Setting: We will discuss what you hope to achieve, outlining initial goals to guide your treatment plan.
  • Logistics & Confidentiality: We will cover confidentiality and its limitations, necessary paperwork, and any questions you have about the process.
  • A Gentle Pace: There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will move at a pace that feels safe for you.

This first session is a collaborative foundation for our work together—a judgment-free zone aimed at helping you move toward a healthier life.
