Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Emily! I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. I have been in the mental health field for almost eight years, and during this time have worked in various settings with diverse populations. The majority of my work has been centered around supporting individuals who are navigating various impacts of trauma, with a focus on relational trauma.

My approach to therapy

I see the therapeutic relationship as the most important aspect of therapy, and show up in a a compassionate and authentic way that allows for development of a trusting relationship. Therapy participants are experts in their own lives, and I view my role as partnering with and supporting those I am working with to define what healing means and looks like for them. I am relaxed and flexible as I understand that each individual is coming into therapy with unique needs.

What you can expect from me

I value compassion, creativity, humor, learning, diversity, and openness and work to consistently incorporate these values into my work. Therapy participants can expect a welcoming environment that holds space for empathic exploration of all aspects of their identity. Session goals tend to be centered around addressing impacts of trauma and creating a path for healing that allows individuals to create a different relationship with themselves and the world around them.
