Great to meet you!

My name is Emily Garza. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2020. As a first-generation Latina whose parents immigrated from Mexico, I understand the societal and familial pressures and stressors that Latinx individuals face.

In my work, I utilize a liberatory consciousness lens to support my clients in their journey towards overcoming oppression and building resilience.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a high school teacher and a college and career advisor which helped me become the therapist I am today, aware that everyone has a starting point and everyone's story and trauma are different.

My approach to therapy

I am trained in somatic therapy (intermediate level) and take a collaborative, client-centered approach. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives and aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for awareness, healing, and growth.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we’ll spend some time laying the groundwork. I’d love to get to know you, understand what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and explore how I can best support you on your journey.
