Great to meet you!

Emily Godzak is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor serving the county of San Diego. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.

My approach to therapy

Emily enjoys treating adults, adolescents, and children. She has experience working with diverse populations and uses various modalities with her main approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.

In addition to her background in outpatient family mental health and LGBTQIA+ community mental health awareness, her focus has been on managing clients who are experiencing addiction, anxiety and bipolar disorders, self-esteem issues, codependency, depression, and ADHD/ADD. Emily is committed to creating safe spaces for her clients so they may speak freely and feel heard.

What you can expect from me

I create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. My goals typically focus on increasing self-awareness, building effective coping skills, and improving overall emotional well-being. I also work collaboratively with clients to set realistic, measurable goals that support lasting change.
