Great to meet you!

I have been practicing since 2006. I have worked in a variety of settings and specialties throughout my career, such as outpatient psychiatric, substance abuse recovery, IOP/PHP, and private practice, so I bring an eclectic approach to my work with clients. I believe therapy is a brave and rewarding growth opportunity for those who choose to take the journey!

My approach to therapy

I am educated and trained in systems theories and work from a perspective that our problems often stem from relationships around us: work, family, friends, and society. Understanding how these relationships work together and influence us is the key to finding solutions. The quality of the relationship the client has with me is the primary positive force in helping one feel safe to open up and explore their inner world. I often draw from CBT, DBT, and Person-Centered theories to help navigate through the therapy journey. I love working with a variety of individuals, couples, and families. I have extensive experience working with people who have experienced some sort of trauma in their lives. I have also enjoyed working with people dealing with grief and loss, LGBTQA+, chronic illness, and mood disorders. I bring a genuine, kind, and relaxed feel to the therapy experience. When a person feels that their therapist is truly listening, understanding, and nonjudgmental, they can feel safe to open up and do the sometimes scary work of unpacking very difficult experiences and feelings. I believe therapy should feel liberating, safe, and helpful.

What you can expect from me

My clients can expect to feel a sense of positive connection and hope about starting this journey together. I bring a genuine approach, so every first session is different. I will always strive to make my clients feel safe and heard, so I will communicate clearly and honestly, encouraging any questions or just a safe and open platform for my client to begin.
