Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Emily.

Welcome to therapy! My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without feeling judged, pressured, or like you need to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who works primarily with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity exploration, and the general stress of trying to figure life out.

One of my core values as a therapist is authenticity. I believe that meaningful therapy happens when two real people are sitting in the room together. While my education, training, and experience are important, I don’t believe healing comes from expertise alone. It comes from connection, trust, and honest conversations.

My approach to therapy

I view therapy as a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life, and I bring the training, perspective, and tools to help you navigate the challenges you’re facing. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in the way, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful change.

My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, but I don’t believe therapy should feel robotic or one-size-fits-all. Every person who walks through my door has a unique story, and I tailor treatment to fit your goals, needs, and personality.

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD, helping clients better understand themselves, develop practical coping strategies, and create lasting change. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or exhausted from carrying the same struggles for years, therapy can be a place to gain clarity, confidence, and direction.

I also believe that therapy doesn’t have to be serious all the time. Some sessions may involve deep emotional work. Others may include laughter, perspective shifts, and moments of relief. Both are valuable parts of the process.

What you can expect from me

My style is warm, genuine, and direct. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be completely yourself—messy thoughts, awkward stories, existential crises, and all. I’ll support you, challenge you, celebrate your wins, and help you navigate the parts of life that feel overwhelming. I won’t simply sit back and nod. If I notice a pattern that’s keeping you stuck, I’ll help you explore it. If I think you’re capable of more than you’re giving yourself credit for, I’ll challenge you. My goal is always to help you move toward the life you want and help you discover what works best for you.

The first session is really about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what challenges you’re facing, and what you’d like your life to look like if things were improving. I’ll ask questions about your history, relationships, and experiences to better understand the bigger picture.

Most importantly, the first session is also your opportunity to see if I’m the right fit. Research consistently shows that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the strongest predictors of success in therapy. I encourage clients to pay attention to how they feel in the room. Do you feel comfortable? Understood? Safe enough to be honest?

By the end of our first meeting, we’ll have a clearer understanding of your goals and begin developing a plan for how we can work toward them together.
