Great to meet you!

My name is Emily, and I am excited to support you as you begin your therapy journey. I earned my Psychology degree from Thomas More College and my Master’s in Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. I work with individuals who want to build confidence, gain independence, better understand themselves, and move through life with more clarity and support. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, uncertain, or unsure how to take the next step toward the life they want. My goal is to provide a safe, encouraging, and supportive space where you can feel heard, build on your strengths, and begin creating meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you!

My approach to therapy

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and personalized to each client’s needs and goals. I believe counseling is your journey, and my role is to walk alongside you with compassion, guidance, and practical tools that support your growth. In session, we may work on building confidence, strengthening coping skills, improving self-awareness, exploring patterns that may be holding you back, and identifying realistic steps toward greater independence and emotional well-being. I believe every person’s path to success looks different, so I strive to create an approach that fits who you are, what you value, and what you hope to accomplish through therapy!

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, your strengths, your personal history, and both your short-term and long-term goals. Whether you are seeking support with confidence, independence, stress, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, or personal growth, we will begin identifying what matters most to you and what direction feels helpful. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and more comfortable with the process as we begin building a plan for your therapy journey.
