Great to meet you!

Emily is a dedicated wellness clinician with a deep passion for supporting individuals through life's most difficult challenges. With extensive experience in working with survivors of domestic violence, substance use disorders, and severe mental health conditions, Emily brings both expertise and compassion to every session. Over the years, Emily has developed a solid foundation in crisis intervention, having worked as a clinical co-responder for a local police department. This role has given Emily firsthand experience in responding to high-pressure situations, offering immediate support and linking individuals to vital resources.

Currently serving as a wellness clinician within a police department, Emily continues to offer trauma-informed care and mental health support to officers and their families, striving to ensure the well-being of those who dedicate their lives to protecting others. Emily understands the unique challenges that come with working in law enforcement and is committed to providing a safe space for officers and their loved ones to process and navigate the stresses they face.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors, embracing the healing power of nature. Traveling is also a big part of Emily's life, as it provides a chance to explore new places and cultures, while also recharging for the demands of work. Emily is happily married to an officer and together they share a wonderful child.

Whether working with individuals affected by trauma, substance abuse, or mental health struggles, Emily is committed to providing a nonjudgmental, empathetic space for healing and growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that solutions are possible and accessible to everyone. I view therapy as a collaborative space where we work together to identify strengths, explore challenges, and uncover meaningful paths toward healing and growth. I believe that every person has the capacity for positive change, and therapy should serve as a supportive environment to help discover and strengthen those solutions.

I take a holistic approach to care, recognizing that the mind and body are deeply connected and cannot be treated separately. Emotional well-being is influenced by many aspects of daily life, including diet, sleep, movement, and stress management. When appropriate, I incorporate these lifestyle factors into treatment to support overall wellness and help clients work toward their personal goals in a sustainable way.

I also hold a strong understanding of trauma and its impact. While trauma can be deeply debilitating, I believe it is also a condition that can be effectively treated and managed with the right support, tools, and therapeutic relationship. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered, understood, and capable of healing.

Ultimately, I believe therapy is not about “fixing” someone, but about helping individuals reconnect with their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

What you can expect from me

The first counseling session is centered on building a foundation of trust, as a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of effective therapy. I view this initial session as a chance for us to get to know one another in a comfortable, low-pressure way, allowing you the space to decide whether I am the right fit for your needs.

During our first meeting, I will invite you to share what has brought you to try therapy and what you are hoping to gain from it. We will talk about your goals, current concerns, and any questions you may have about the therapy process. There is no expectation to share more than you feel ready to, and the pace will always be guided by your comfort level.

My goal for the first session is to help you feel heard, respected, and supported, while creating a safe and welcoming environment where we can begin to explore how therapy may best support you moving forward.
