Great to meet you!

I am a psychotherapist, practicing since 2007, treating a range of issues, with a specialization in eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, orthorexia, compulsive exercise, etc.; co-occurring addictions, and mood disorders. I help clients gain insight, while practicing healthier behaviors to participate in life, cope with feelings, decrease isolation; and cultivate nourishing relationships with self and others.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Writing from Carnegie Mellon University, Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, and Masters Degree from Hunter College School of Social Work. I am a graduate of the post-Masters Two-Year Training Program in the Integrative Treatment of Eating Disorders at the Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia (CSAB), A Division of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, in New York, NY. I also facilitate free (via Zoom) eating disorder support groups through CSAB.

My approach to therapy

I offer a warm, supportive, curious and collaborative approach, incorporating psychodynamic, behavioral, Internal Family Systems, etc., as each client explores their own unique narrative(s), perspectives, history, families, relationships, inner world, creativity; desires, goals, challenges, and more. I help clients cultivate hope, connection, purpose, and inner well being, while navigating to build the life they envision for themselves.

Sessions are customized to each client’s treatment goals, and presenting issues.

What you can expect from me

A first session is predominately psychodynamic talk therapy, where the client may share presenting issues and goals, prior personal and psychotherapy/treatment history (and/or history in other healing spaces); treatment preferences, etc. Discussions may explore a client’s past and present internal ways of thinking, feeling; metabolizing life, self, and relationships; past and present challenges; as well as building on strengths, and potential internal and external resources, to further personal and overall life development. In our first session consultation, I may share curiosities, themes, connections, affirmations, that come to mind, from hearing client’s narratives, in case they may be a helpful option to explore in psychotherapy work.
