Great to meet you!

Hello, and congratulations on taking the first step toward therapy and choosing to prioritize yourself. My name is Emily, and I have been working in the mental health field for over eight years. I understand that beginning therapy can feel both difficult and deeply meaningful, and I truly admire the courage it takes to explore all aspects of your story.

My goal is to create a supportive, compassionate space where you feel safe being yourself and exploring the experiences that have shaped you. I believe healing and growth happen through connection, self-understanding, and feeling genuinely supported throughout the process. Together, we can work toward building insight, resilience, and meaningful change at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering for you.

My approach to therapy

I earned my Master of Social Work from Tulane University and have received specialized training in substance abuse treatment, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). My background allows me to support clients with a wide range of emotional, relational, and trauma-related challenges using evidence-based and compassionate approaches.

I genuinely enjoy getting to know my clients and believe therapy works best when it is tailored to each person’s unique needs, experiences, and goals. My approach is collaborative and individualized, focusing on creating a supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and able to move toward meaningful healing and growth.

What you can expect from me

A first session with me is an opportunity for you to share as much or as little of your story as feels comfortable. There is no pressure to have everything figured out right away, and I understand that identifying goals and putting experiences into words can take time. If it feels helpful, I’m happy to ask more directive questions to help guide the conversation and support you in exploring what brought you to therapy.

My goal is to help you feel as comfortable, seen, and heard as possible from the very beginning. I believe finding the right therapist is about your needs first, and I want our work together to feel supportive, collaborative, and grounded in trust and safety.
