Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Emily Wolford. I am continuously learning the importance of the "slow down," genuine self care, and how to create sustainable peace, despite circumstance. I hold a master’s degree in counseling and have trained in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based interventions. Over the past 5 years I’ve worked in residential treatment programs, community mental health, and schools, supporting adults and adolescents through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I have personal and professional experience into the life of veterans and first responders. My clinical work emphasizes collaboration, cultural humility, and tailoring treatment to each person’s strengths and goals. I continue ongoing training to ensure up-to-date care and welcome questions about my background or approach.

My approach to therapy

I’m a warm, collaborative therapist who blends evidence-based approaches like CBT and mindfulness with compassionate, client-centered care. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and life transitions, and I tailor treatment to each person’s goals and strengths. You can expect practical tools, clear communication, and a safe space to explore difficult emotions. I’m committed to helping you build resilience and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, I’ll welcome you with a warm, nonjudgmental space and ask about what brings you in, your history, and your goals so we can build a collaborative plan that fits your needs. I’ll explain the informed consent basics—confidentiality, its legal limits (e.g., safety concerns), session structure, fees/cancellation policy, and how we’ll record progress—and answer any questions you have before you decide to continue. We’ll do an initial assessment and begin identifying priorities and practical, accessible steps you can try between sessions. My aim is to ensure you feel informed, respected, and involved in decisions about your care from the very first meeting.
