Great to meet you!

I'm Emma, a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) practicing across Massachusetts via telehealth. I trained at Simmons College and work with adults and teens who are dealing with the kind of stuff that doesn't fit neatly into a label - trauma that lives in the body, an ADHD brain that's been misunderstood, anxiety that's been mistaken for a personality trait, or family dynamics that are complicated and painful even when there's love involved. I bring a real, human presence to sessions. I'm not going to give you worksheets and send you home - I want to actually understand what you're navigating and help you find your footing.

My approach to therapy

My approach pulls from trauma-focused CBT, somatic therapy, and solution-focused techniques - because I believe healing happens at the intersection of the mind and the body, not just through talking. I tailor every session to where you are that week. Some sessions are about building skills. Some are about sitting with something hard. I use Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy when family relationships are part of the picture, and Motivational Interviewing when you feel stuck or ambivalent about change. You'll never feel like you're running through a script with me.

What you can expect from me

Expect a real conversation - not a formal intake that feels like a job interview. I'll ask about what's brought you to therapy right now, what's felt hard, and what you're hoping to feel differently about. I'll share a little about how I work and we'll see if it feels like a fit. There's no pressure to have everything figured out before you come. You just have to show up.
