Great to meet you!

HI DIVA! I’m Emma, therapist and founder of Beanstalk Therapy, where I help teens and young adults figure life out in all its beautiful, chaotic glory. As a Gen Z therapist, I’m part of the first generation of clinicians raised alongside social media, so I’m not going to pathologize the parts of you the internet shaped. I get it, because I lived it too. I’m Ivy League educated AND well-versed in brain rot/internet lore. We love duality.

My approach to therapy

My work is rooted in the tension between accepting yourself exactly as you are AND becoming who you want to be. My style is warm, direct, and unapologetically authentic. I pull from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including DBT, CBT, psychodynamic, and person-centered therapy, but I’m much more interested in crafting a concoction that works specifically for you rather than forcing you into a therapeutic box. Expect humor, irreverence, pop culture references, and plenty of psychoeducation on neuroscience to name what is actually happening in the body.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really just us getting to know each other — and I mean that literally. I'm a stranger to you, and I don't expect you to open up to a stranger. So let's not be strangers. We'll go over some important logistics like confidentiality and how the process works, and then we'll just... talk. I want to know who you are, what you're into, what your life looks like. There’s no pressure to speed-run your deepest darkest secrets. That same energy carries into the rest of our work: we’ll talk, we’ll process, we’ll do the work... and dare I say have some silly, goofy times along the way?
