I have a background in child, adolescent, adult, family mental health and substance abuse treatments. My clinical interests include holistic care of clients across lifespan with an emphasis on disease prevention, health maintenance, chronic disease management, mental health and addiction. My years of experience in critical care, emergency care, and as a US veteran enables me to provide a perspective of trauma informed care.
I am experienced in the treatment of trauma, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, depression and anxiety. I believe everyone has a purpose and should not view their mental disorder as a weakness. Recovery of mental health symptoms is possible when managed with kindness, respect, and dignity. My approach for treatment is to achieve remission of symptoms by using the lowest effective dosage, along with psychotherapy.
My goal for each session is to provide education about effective treatment options available, discuss current mental health symptoms, and unravel maladaptive coping mechanisms. I champion self-determination, hope and responsibility. My clients are treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve. I would be glad to join you on your journey to recovery.
