Great to meet you!
I’ve been a therapist for 30 years, but I’ve also lived a lot of life outside the therapy room. I’m a Marine Corps combat veteran, a former firefighter, a man in long-term recovery, and someone who’s known both trauma and transformation firsthand. I bring that lived experience into my work; not as a badge, but as a source of compassion and steadiness when you need someone who truly gets it.
I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and am licensed in both Tennessee and Massachusetts. I’ve worked in inpatient addiction recovery, led Critical Incident Stress teams for first responders, taught graduate students in counseling, and now run my own private practice: Ironwood Summit Counseling.
I specialize in trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship distress, spiritual injury, and moral pain; particularly with veterans, first responders, and people in recovery. I also work with couples who want to heal from disconnection, reactivity, or betrayal, and I offer support for those navigating major life transitions like divorce, retirement, or career change.
Clients often tell me they feel safe, heard, and remembered in our work. That matters to me. I believe every human being (no matter their background, politics, faith, or identity) is worthy of respect and capable of growth. My office is a judgment-free zone. I’m not here to fix you; I’m here to honor your story and help you reclaim it.
