Great to meet you!

I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 20 years of specialized experience in addiction treatment and trauma-informed care. I am also EMDR-trained, which allows me to support clients in processing traumatic experiences and reducing the emotional distress associated with them.

I work with individuals facing a range of concerns, including substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress-related challenges, and relationship difficulties. I have a particular passion for helping clients who feel stuck in patterns of emotional distress, maladaptive coping, or overthinking, and I support them in developing healthier ways of managing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I integrate EMDR when clinically appropriate, along with other interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. My focus is to help clients achieve meaningful and sustainable change while fostering emotional stability, resilience, and self-awareness.

Being bilingual allows me to provide care in both English and Spanish, helping ensure that clients can express themselves comfortably in the language they prefer. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and culturally responsive space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace.

I work from a trauma-informed perspective and integrate modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and EMDR when clinically appropriate. As a bilingual clinician, I provide therapy in both English and Spanish to ensure clients can fully express themselves in the language they are most comfortable with.

I specialize in addiction treatment, trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress-related concerns. I also have a strong focus on helping clients who struggle with overthinking, emotional dysregulation, and maladaptive coping patterns, supporting them in developing healthier ways of managing distress and improving overall functioning.

My goal is to help clients build insight, resilience, and practical coping skills that support long-term change. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside each client to help them move toward greater stability, self-awareness, and emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we begin building a foundation of trust and understanding. This initial session is primarily focused on getting to know you, your current concerns, and what brings you to therapy at this time.

We will review relevant background information, discuss your symptoms or challenges, and explore your goals for treatment. I also provide space for you to ask questions about the therapy process so you can feel informed and comfortable moving forward.

There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready for. My goal is to meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Together, we will begin identifying priorities for treatment and outline a collaborative plan tailored to your needs.

By the end of the session, clients typically leave with a clearer understanding of how we will work together and what the next steps in therapy will look like.
