Great to meet you!

I am a compassionate, approachable, and nonjudgmental therapist who strives to create a safe and supportive environment for every client. During our first session, I make it a priority to emphasize that therapy is a space free from judgment and blame. As human beings, we all experience challenges, setbacks, and mistakes throughout our lives, and I believe these experiences are a natural part of personal growth.

While I serve in the role of therapist, I do not view myself as superior to those I work with. Instead, I value collaboration, mutual respect, and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. I believe that meaningful progress occurs when clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take an active role in their treatment.

Honesty and transparency are central to my practice. Together, we will develop individualized goals that reflect your unique needs, values, and aspirations rather than pursuing a predetermined or "easy" path. I recognize that no one has all the answers, and I am committed to being honest when I do not know something. In those instances, I will make every effort to seek out accurate information and resources to best support your growth and well-being.

My goal is to work alongside you as a partner in your journey, helping you build the skills, insight, and confidence needed to create meaningful and lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is grounded in a client-centered philosophy that emphasizes respect, collaboration, and individualized care. I believe that every client is unique and deserves treatment tailored to their specific needs, experiences, and goals rather than a standardized or "one-size-fits-all" approach.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. Building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, authenticity, and mutual respect is central to my work.

My approach is collaborative in nature, with treatment goals developed jointly with clients to ensure that therapy aligns with their personal values and desired outcomes. I utilize evidence-based interventions while remaining flexible and responsive to each client's individual circumstances.

Drawing from my extensive experience working with trauma, domestic violence, PTSD, anger management, justice-involved populations, veterans, and first responders, I incorporate trauma-informed principles that recognize the impact of both acute and chronic stress on emotional well-being. I understand the unique challenges faced by military personnel, veterans, law enforcement professionals, firefighters, EMS personnel, corrections staff, and other first responders, including exposure to traumatic events, occupational stress, moral injury, burnout, and difficulties transitioning between professional and personal roles.

My professional background in law enforcement, corrections, and mental health has provided me with firsthand insight into the demands and culture of these professions. This experience allows me to connect with clients from these backgrounds in a meaningful and authentic way while helping them navigate challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, stress management, and personal growth.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they are encouraged to share their concerns at a pace that feels comfortable to them. My primary goal is to begin building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, honesty, and mutual respect.

The initial session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I will gather information about your background, current challenges, strengths, and what has brought you to therapy. We will discuss your goals, expectations, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process. I believe that therapy should be individualized, so I work collaboratively with clients to identify goals that are meaningful and relevant to their unique circumstances rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Clients can also expect transparency and authenticity from me. I encourage open communication and welcome questions about the therapy process. Together, we will begin developing a plan that addresses your specific needs while creating a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.

By the end of the first session, clients typically have a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process, an opportunity to identify initial treatment goals, and a sense of whether our therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit for their journey toward growth and healing.
