Great to meet you!

From the anxious high-achiever to the person struggling to get out of bed in the morning, counseling can help you get back on your feet again. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been in practice for over 12 years, helping clients of all ages from kids to teenagers to adults relieve their symptoms and find peace. Recently my practice has focused on women ages 14-40 struggling to manage anxiety in their everyday life. I also offer Christian faith-based counseling to explore faith and scripture as it relates to mental health.

My approach to therapy

I have a particular focus on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my practice. This means that in therapy we balance working on behaviors, such as coping skills or harm reduction, with the cognitive side of things, addressing unhelpful thought patterns that keep you stuck. The channels of communication stay open throughout our time together and we adjust and target specific concerns as we go. I will be there to support you, challenge you, and cheer you on to help you achieve your goals.

What you can expect from me

Our initial session will focus on you, what is bringing you to counseling and what you hope to get out of our time together. I hope to ease any anxiety you feel about meeting with a new counselor for the first time. Then, I will gather some current and past information regarding your health, mental health, and past treatment. At the end of our first session we typically work to develop our goals for treatment and talk through how we will monitor progress over the course of therapy.
