Great to meet you!

I have been in the field for over fifteen years. I have worked in a variety of settings, with children, adolescents and adults. My current focus for the past several years has been on supporting adults, particularly those seeking support around life transitions, relationships and anxiety. I also have years of experience and a special focus on working with folks in the LGBTQIA+ community. I regularly partake in continuing education, which I find exciting and helpful in keeping up with current themes in mental health care, such as exploring social justice issues through a mental health lens.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered and eclectic at its core. I prefer to individualize therapy to best suit the needs of the individual. I most often bring in elements of narrative and humanistic modalities using talk therapy. I also incorporate coping mechanisms and mindfulness into my work. I also inform my work with both a strengths based and trauma focused lens.

What you can expect from me

In our work together, I hope that clients realize their own strength and ability to be part of the therapeutic process and that they are the driving force to their own success. Clients will find a space that is welcoming, warm and gentle. Goals and outcomes are unique to the client, but a theme I have found is an improved understanding of their symptoms and functioning, improved abilities to cope and empowerment about their individual situations.
