Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Dr. Erica Henderson, a licensed psychologist with extensive experience helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, and life transitions. My goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive environment where you feel understood, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to improve your emotional well-being.

I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, stress, low self-esteem, anger management, family conflict, relationship difficulties, and behavioral challenges. I also have extensive experience working with individuals with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, and difficulties with attention, executive functioning, and emotional regulation.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and tailored to each individual's needs. I use evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to help clients understand their emotions, challenge negative thought patterns, improve coping skills, and develop healthier relationships. As a DBT-certified psychologist, I help individuals strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and focused on your individual needs. I believe that building a trusting relationship is essential to making meaningful progress, and I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, ADHD, or relationship and family challenges, I work with you to identify your strengths, understand the patterns contributing to your concerns, and develop practical strategies for change. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy to help you manage difficult emotions, improve communication, strengthen relationships, and build resilience. My goal is to help you feel supported while empowering you to make positive changes in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I'll ask about your current concerns, personal and mental health history, relationships, and what you hope to accomplish through therapy. If we're working with a child or adolescent, I'll also explore relevant family, developmental, behavioral, and school-related concerns. Together, we'll identify treatment goals and develop an individualized plan that reflects your needs and priorities. As therapy progresses, I use approaches such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused interventions to help you develop coping skills, regulate emotions, manage stress, and address unhelpful thought and behavior patterns. Throughout our work, we'll regularly review your progress and adjust treatment strategies to ensure therapy remains meaningful, effective, and aligned with your goals.
