Great to meet you!

Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or a significant life transition? Perhaps you’re noticing recurring patterns in your relationships, struggling with self-criticism, or feeling disconnected from yourself despite your efforts to move forward. Genuine connection, recognition, and attunement are central to my approach to therapy. I believe meaningful change develops through a collaborative relationship in which you feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected.

I’m Erica, a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), bringing over 20 years of experience in mental health treatment and wellness, including extensive clinical work in inpatient psychiatric care, intensive outpatient treatment, and psychotherapy. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, ADHD, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. As a former athlete, I also work with athletes facing performance anxiety, perfectionism, and identity concerns. I welcome individuals seeking practical strategies for managing symptoms, as well as those interested in developing a deeper understanding of their emotional experiences, relationships, and sense of self. I provide online psychotherapy throughout California, including Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, Orange County, and San Diego. My work integrates evidence-based treatment, relational attunement, and a whole-person perspective, with care tailored to your individual needs, circumstances, and goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy, with an emphasis on precise attunement, emotional awareness, and the relationship between mind, body, and lived experience. I integrate somatic awareness, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), drawing from these perspectives according to your individual needs. Together, we explore how earlier experiences, relational patterns, protective responses, and nervous system processes may influence your present experience. I offer trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and affirming care within a collaborative therapeutic relationship. My work emphasizes compassionate inquiry, shame-free communication, and recognition of the many ways we adapt to life’s experiences. Rather than applying a predetermined formula, I remain attentive to your individual history, emotional rhythms, strengths, and capacity for change. Our work supports greater clarity, emotional regulation, self-understanding, and a more authentic relationship with yourself and others.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a grounded, steady therapeutic presence characterized by warmth, active curiosity, and genuine engagement. I value creating a relationship where you feel heard, understood, respected, and free to bring your whole self into the conversation. Our sessions are collaborative and individually tailored.

At times, we may explore thoughts, emotions, memories, and relationship patterns. At others, we may attend more closely to physical sensations, nervous system responses, or the different parts of yourself that emerge in moments of uncertainty, conflict, or distress. I bring extensive educational and experiential training to our work, integrating thoughtful reflection with practical strategies when appropriate. I believe meaningful therapeutic change develops through recognition, emotional safety, and a genuine relationship with experience. My intention is to meet you as a whole person, recognizing your strengths, individuality, and capacity for meaningful change. Together, we can cultivate clarity, strengthen emotional regulation, and support meaningful, sustainable change in your daily life and relationships.
