Great to meet you!

I am an honors graduate of the Mental Health Counseling Program at SUNY Old Westbury. Since earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, my passion and commitment to treating others has never wavered. I have worked with many populations, including adolescents and adults and have treated a variety of issues. A major focus in my work has been towards multicultural counseling and the importance of understanding how symptoms present in ethnic and minority populations. Using an integrative approach, I address a wide range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and self-esteem with a specialization in trauma and interpersonal or relational issues. I am available for both virtual and in-person sessions depending on client preference.

My approach to therapy

Therapy is a gift. It is an opportunity to be seen, heard, understood, and supported in ways that you might not be. As a person-centered therapist, I don’t find success in doing something for the client, but rather in being someone for the client. As a multicultural competent counselor, I understand the importance of viewing someone as a whole individual, as opposed to what is presented symptomatically. Through an integrative analytic and cognitive-behavioral approach, I empower clients to gain insight and overcome life’s stressors and hardships. Healing is a journey, let’s go through it together.

What you can expect from me

Depending on the client's comfortability and familiarity with the therapeutic process, the first session can be scary, intimidating or anxiety-inducing. I value a conversational, "meet & greet" approach, with a focus on rapport building while background information is obtained. Therapy is collaborative, but I believe that much of the work and growth comes from the clients themselves. Clients should come prepared with their own goals and expectations for treatment, and be prepared for those goals to either remain or change as treatment progresses.
