My name is Erika Cortes, I am a nurse practitioner who specializes in psychiatric mental health. I have practiced as a family nurse practitioner, hospitalist provider, geriatric rehab practitioner and other medical specialties. These specialties assist me in having a holistic approach to your care. I have a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from Purdue University and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner master’s degree from Florida State University.
I am very passionate about treating you holistically, as a human and not a diagnosis. Therefore, I will recommend vitamins, minerals, supplements, exercise, journaling, and hobbies if I feel that you will benefit from them. I do not frown on the idea of discontinuation of medications with a proper plan of care that is adhered to for certain diagnosis’s.
Expect that all your visit to be very personal. I encourage you to be as honest as possible with me, however if at ANY moment you feel uncomfortable sharing with me, please let me know, I will honor your privacy. All information, as insignificant as it may seem, helps me understand you as a person and in turn how I may assist you moving forward in overcoming obstacles and how we can create a plan of care tailored specifically to you.
