Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor who works primarily with adults seeking a thoughtful, individualized approach to therapy. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, EMDR, and unwanted compulsive or craving-driven behaviors.

I particularly enjoy working with veterans and military-connected adults, first responders, high-stress professionals, and people who have already spent significant time in therapy and are looking for something beyond traditional cognitive approaches.

My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change often requires understanding not only our thoughts and experiences, but also our nervous system, emotions, relationships, and the protective patterns we developed along the way.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, collaborative, and often deeper than insight alone. Many of my clients already understand their patterns intellectually; they come to therapy because understanding hasn't necessarily created the change they are looking for.

I often use Polyvagal-informed concepts and nervous system state mapping to help clients understand the biology of their responses and reduce shame. When appropriate, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and ego-state approaches to explore the protective parts of ourselves that may influence our behavior or create internal conflict.

EMDR is an important part of my trauma work and can help process memories, experiences, sensations, emotions, or behaviors that remain connected to an old threat response.

My goal is not simply to help you understand yourself better, but to help you develop greater flexibility and freedom in the present. My approach often follows this algorithm:

Understand your nervous system → Become curious about your protective parts → Process what remains stuck → Develop more freedom in the present.

I tailor the approach to the individual rather than applying the same treatment to everyone.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, understand what brings you to therapy, and begin developing a shared understanding of what you're experiencing and what you hope will change.

I'll ask about your current concerns as well as relevant history, but I don't believe you need to tell your entire life story in the first session. We'll move at a pace that feels appropriate and establish a foundation for our work together.

Depending on what brings you to therapy, we may begin exploring patterns in your nervous system, emotions, relationships, or behavior. My goal is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of what we're working on and a sense that there is a path forward.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you come in. We can figure out where to begin together.
