Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and I currently work remotely in California. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, and I have been licensed in Marriage & Family Therapy since 2008. I spent the first half of my career in public service, specifically working in the nonprofit sector and on the county level in Los Angeles, Orange and Monterey Counties. I started my private practice in 2012, and since that time I've worked primarily with individual adults experiencing trauma-related symptoms, mood dysregulation (anxiety, depression), and relational challenges (codependence, narcissism, attachment issues, fractured family of origin).

My approach to therapy

I am trauma-informed first and foremost, so my top priority is to make sure my interventions are not intrusive or disempowering, In addition to being trauma-informed, I have an integrative approach, which means I prefer to borrow elements from multiple therapeutic models rather than limiting myself to just one; this allows me to adapt my treatment strategy to each client's unique needs, strengths, and preferences, and helps me ensure my interventions are effective. The models I borrow from most often are cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and various psychodynamic models (i.e., Jungian, object-relations, humanistic, and existential).

What you can expect from me

In the initial intake session I will focus primarily on gathering a comprehensive psychosocial history and asking structured questions to understand your background, experiences, and goals. I will also begin the process of building our therapeutic alliance, and more specifically creating a supportive environment where you feel heard, empowered, and actively involved in the process.
