Great to meet you!

I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2018 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also have experience working with individuals experiencing psychosis and other serious mental health conditions.

I know that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a welcoming, respectful environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. Whether you're navigating a difficult life transition, recovering from trauma, struggling with anxiety or depression, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to meet you where you are and support you in moving toward meaningful change.

I believe every person has unique strengths and experiences, which is why I take time to understand your story and tailor treatment to your individual needs. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to build a healthier, more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to your individual needs. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another and to develop practical strategies for creating meaningful change. I also have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which are effective treatments for trauma and PTSD.

I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Together, we'll identify your goals, build on your strengths, and develop skills that you can use outside of our sessions. My style is supportive and compassionate while also providing structure, guidance, and honest feedback when appropriate. I want you to leave each session with a better understanding of yourself and practical tools that help you move toward the life you want to live.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and my goal is to help you feel comfortable from the very beginning. During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other, discussing what brought you to therapy, exploring your current concerns, and identifying what you hope to accomplish. I'll also ask questions about your personal history and any experiences that may be contributing to the challenges you're facing.

The first session is not about having all the answers or diving into everything at once. It's an opportunity for us to build a foundation, determine whether we're a good fit, and begin developing a plan that aligns with your goals. You'll have plenty of space to ask questions, share at your own pace, and leave with a clearer understanding of what our work together will look like moving forward.
