I am a licensed professional counselor that focuses on child and family therapy. I received my BA in Psychology and my MA in Clinical Counseling. I have additional training in Play Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma processing, PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy) for behavior management, and The Incredible Years Programs to support parents and teach children skills like emotional regulation and problem solving.
I am passionate about helping children and families to find solutions that fit for them. I use a person centered approach in most of my work, so that the family or client get to work on what they believe is important. Along wiht that person centered approach, I add in additional modalities that are a good fit for the person or family that I am working with.
We start the therapeutic journey at the first session. When you are done with the initial assessment, you have already decided what the goals and focus will be for your therapy. From that session forward, I focus on building a accepting atmosphere where people can learn skills, process emotions and move forward to overcome the challenges that they are facing.
