Great to meet you!

Ernesto Cristian MS, PMHNP, FNP-BC

Masters in science Boar Certified Advanced Registered Nurse practitioner specialized in Family practice (Autonomous). Psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner

Ernesto graduated in 1997 from the Highest Institute of Medical Science of Santiago de Cuba in Cuba as the top graduate of his course. He has more than 22 years of experience in every context of practice in the medical profession, including critical care and family care.

Ernesto has not stopped developing his scientific competence since emigrating to the United States in 2001 in search of a brighter future for his family, to the point of achieving Autonomy of practice.

His style of practice can be traditional (prescribing up-to-date medications) or alternative medicine (natural treatments including but not limited to vitamins, supplements, lifestyle modification, nutrition, exercise, and stress management). He brings a warm and practicing style to his patients, believing and establishing a partnership with them, focusing on healthy lifestyles and medical management.

He believes in the mind/body/spiritual connection and that we are made up as a whole person and not a series of parts, just as Hippocrates, "The Father of Medicine."

My approach to therapy

My Approach to Providing Care

As a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in healthcare, my approach to care is rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and patient empowerment. I am committed to treating the whole person—mind and body—through an integrated, evidence-based model of care.

I believe that effective healthcare begins with building trust and strong therapeutic relationships. I take the time to understand each patient's unique story, values, and goals. Whether addressing acute physical concerns, managing chronic conditions, or supporting mental health recovery, I work collaboratively with patients and their families to develop individualized care plans that promote wellness and long-term stability.

My practice is guided by the principles of:

  • Patient-centered care, where respect, empathy, and shared decision-making lead the way.
  • Evidence-based practice, ensuring that every treatment decision is grounded in the latest research and clinical guidelines.
  • Holistic focus, recognizing the interplay between emotional, psychological, and physical health.
  • Cultural competence, providing inclusive and respectful care across diverse populations.
  • Continuity and coordination, especially in telehealth and home-based care, ensuring accessible support and seamless transitions.

As an experienced provider in both primary care and psychiatry, I value the interdisciplinary collaboration that improves outcomes and enhances the patient experience. I am deeply committed to lifelong learning and evolving my practice to meet the changing needs of the individuals and communities I serve.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard, valued, and empowered. My sessions are rooted in collaboration, where we work together to identify goals, explore challenges, and create personalized treatment plans tailored to their needs—whether for physical health, mental wellness, or both.

I strive to provide:

  • Clarity through education, so clients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and the reasoning behind clinical decisions.
  • Consistency, with follow-up and support that builds trust and ensures continuity of care.
  • Practical strategies to manage symptoms, cope with stressors, and improve daily functioning.
  • Evidence-based interventions, combined with compassionate care and a holistic focus on mind-body wellness.

Whether we are addressing medication management, lifestyle changes, or emotional challenges, my goal is to help each client gain the insight, stability, and confidence needed to take control of their health and move forward with resilience.
