I graduated in '99 in Oregon, did a bunch of things for and around therapy for another 20 years, and settled into (finally!) becoming a counselor recently (January '24). I'll use what works for you, and be here to support you as we go through the growing pains, until you are happy with where you are at.
I'm specifically trained in dealing with adolescents, couples, trauma, PTSD, and anxieties.
As a result of my background, I have a pretty eclectic approach. I tend to be cognitive/behavioral in approach, at least initially, but then adapt and use whatever my client can best benefit from; person centered, DBT, Gestalt, psychodynamic, etc. It's what works best for you. I prefer the use of CBT, REBT, EMDR and Gottman the best, however. I'm currently (Aug '25) learning hypnosis.
Typically, I'll have clients monitor their progress and share events that are meaningful, and we will have homework assigned that can best encourage the growth that's being sought. You can expect something every week, to keep progress moving forward!
Please note that couples counseling is NOT billed through insurance, and will be charged at $150/session to the client. (I'm happy to explain why if asked.)
