Great to meet you!

You might be feeling worried, confused, or even exhausted trying to understand what your teen is going through, or trying to manage your own stress while keeping everything else together. Maybe you’re noticing changes in mood, school performance, sleep, friendships, or substance use, and what used to work at home just doesn’t anymore. I work with teens (13–19) and adults across Georgia who are navigating anxiety, depression, addictions, family conflict, academic pressure, and the impact of past trauma. Together, we’ll create a safe, steady, and nonjudgmental space where you and your teen can slow down, be honest, and feel understood. My goal is to help you build practical skills, deepen insight, and find a sense of hope and direction, one step at a time.

My approach to therapy

In our work together, I combine 21 years of experience as a Georgia-licensed therapist with evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These approaches are especially helpful for issues like intense emotions, self-criticism, impulsive behavior, substance use, ADHD-related challenges, bullying, and relationship or family stress. Sessions are collaborative and focused on what matters most to you. We’ll explore the patterns that keep you stuck and practice new tools you can use between sessions—such as coping skills, communication strategies, and grounding techniques. I move at a pace that feels comfortable, explain what we’re doing and why, and welcome your questions so you always feel informed, respected, and in control of your own process.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we’ll talk about what led you here, what you’ve already tried, and what you hope might feel different in your life or your family. You do not need to have the “right” words or a clear plan—that is something we will build together. I’ll ask gentle, thoughtful questions, offer reflections, and help you name your goals in a way that feels realistic and achievable. Over time, you can expect a blend of support and honest feedback, along with concrete strategies you can use outside of therapy. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling a bit more grounded, less alone, and more confident in your next steps. If this feels like the kind of support you’re looking for, I’d be honored to meet you and explore how we can work together.
