Great to meet you!

Hello there! My name is Ethan King and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my Master's from Concordia University Irvine and I received an additional degree from King's College London with an emphasis on trauma studies. Over the last few years my work has been focused on the intersection of trauma at all levels- from the individual, to group, to systemic levels. This has led me to receive my Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor license to help support individuals suffering with substance use issues. I believe that pain and suffering are at the heart of our human struggles and empathy and curiosity create clear pathways towards healing.

My approach to therapy

For my counseling approach, I use a mixture of a mindfulness approach along with coherence therapy. For anxiety and depression, I use a mixture of Coherence Therapy, CBT, and EMDR therapy with other modalities depending on the severity of the problem. For relational issues, we will focus on building robust relational skills while integrating some of your experiences that have led to the development of your problems.

What you can expect from me

From the very first session we will implement a treatment plan that makes sense to you. I use an approach that utilizes the latest research in counseling psychology along with a focus on developing a sense of mastery for you. In addition, I want to resource you so that you have the skills you need to handle life’s challenges.
