Great to meet you!
I have a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Baylor University and a Masters in Education with a focus in Professional Counseling from Lamar University. I have spent 16+ years working in the public sector as a registered nurse, nurse instructor, and counselor. My primary treatment areas include but are in no way limited to: trauma, anxiety, grief, health conditions, and women's health issues.
My path to becoming an LPC began as an RN, where I developed a passion for helping others heal. Over time, I felt called to expand beyond physical health and explore new ways to support whole-person wellness.
I don't believe there is such a thing as an ideal client. I know firsthand the importance of having a safe and non-judgmental space to process through thoughts and feelings openly.
My own experiences and challenges have shaped every facet of who I am and how I approach counseling - from living through and learning to cope with the impacts of traumatic grief and loss, to parenting a transgender and neurodiverse child, and managing life with a chronic health condition, I know that being human is often complicated and difficult and I want to create more avenues to walk with people through their own struggles, growth, and healing.
