Great to meet you!

Finding the right support for your child can feel overwhelming. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with more than 10 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and families navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, behavioral concerns, school difficulties, and major life transitions.

For the past nine years, I have worked as a therapist in Boston Public Schools, partnering closely with students, families, and school teams to support emotional, behavioral, social, and academic success. In addition to my school-based work, I have provided family therapy in outpatient and intensive in-home settings, giving me a strong understanding of both child development and family dynamics.

I believe parents are essential partners in the therapeutic process and provide ongoing collaboration, coaching, and practical strategies that can be used at home. I also help families navigate school-related concerns, special education processes, and advocacy needs so children can thrive both emotionally and academically.

On a personal note, I have two young boys at home, so I understand firsthand how busy and rewarding family life can be. When I’m not chasing them around, I enjoy playing and watching basketball and digging the crates for new records.

My approach to therapy

My approach is flexible and individualized, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. While techniques and interventions are important, I believe lasting change begins with connection. My experience as both a clinician and someone who once had to navigate the challenges of growing (many moons ago) has taught me that children and adolescents make progress when they feel genuinely understood, respected, and supported. Building a therapeutic relationship that is authentic, caring, trusting, and affirming is at the heart of my work with every child, adolescent, and family I serve.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for me to get to know your child, learn about your family’s concerns, and begin building a trusting relationship with everyone involved. I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where both children and parents feel comfortable. During our first meeting, I’ll spend time learning about your child’s strengths, personality, interests, and challenges, as well as any concerns related to emotions, behavior, school, friendships, or family life. I believe children are more than the difficulties they may be experiencing, so I take a strengths-based approach that helps identify what is working well in addition to areas where support is needed. By the end of the first session, families can expect to have a clearer understanding of their child’s needs, discuss goals for therapy, and begin developing a plan for how we can work together to help their child feel more successful, confident, and supported both at home and at school.
