Great to meet you!

Evan received her master's in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. She has worked in a variety of treatment environments including inpatient mental health and substance abuse programming, crisis evaluation, and outpatient care. Evan focuses her treatment on adults (18yo+) that are struggling with mental health and/or substance use.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Evan brings her authentic self, along with some sarcastic humor, to each session. In working with her you will feel supported and therapeutically challenged. She considers herself to be honest and straight-forward, which is reflected in her style as a therapist. Evan utilizes a blend of evidence-based practices such as DBT, EMDR, and MI among others. She's also trained as a Daring Way Facilitator based on Brené Brown's work. Most importantly, she tailors her approach to your specific needs.

What you can expect from our first session

You should expect the fist session to consist of gathering information and identifying your goals in order to provide the best care possible. Thereafter, sessions will vary depending on presenting issue and approach selected. Evan doesn't consistently assign therapy "homework", though she will challenge you to be practicing skills discussed in between sessions. She will provide continuous direction, insight and support throughout your work together.
