Dr. Evangelina Alonso

I have been a clinical psychologist in Florida for 24 years with expertise in psychopathology and the psychology of religion and spirituality.

I work with adults, teenagers, and the geriatric population who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, grief, and other psychosocial stressors.

During our initial sessions, we will thoroughly review your history and collaborate on how to create an individualized plan for addressing the issues at hand. I use a strength based approach. If and when agreed upon, I include spirituallly integrated psychotherapy and particularly work with the Catholic population.

I use a strength based approach, assess how a patient learned to cope with events in their lives, and integrate their faith in treatment to help them heal.

I believe in providing people with a warm and safe environment to tell thier story, as everyone has a unique culture and their own experiences. I believe that situations and tragedies can affect people, however this done not define who they are in life.

I provide the space to gather their history so that I can try and view the world through their eyes. This will give me the opportunity to then have a conversation with them and together we can collaborate on the best treatment to help them move forward and heal.
