I have had the honor of working for nearly 40 years in practice with children , adolescents and young adults and their families in primary care and now in psychiatry . I enjoy helping young people navigate the difficulties of adolescence and life and develop into confident happy adults .
Communication is key to my therapeutic approach highlighted by listening and reflecting . Helping youth to learn to identify their strengths and resilience is also key to my approach .
First sessions are. usually 90 minutes and include information gathering sessions with emphasis on past history and the patient's goals for care . Parents/ caregivers are included to a large extent in this first visit as well.
