Great to meet you!

I may not be a typical therapist. I’m a proud, empathetic nerd with a degree in Art History from UC Davis, and my first graduate degree was a Master of Science from the University of Oregon in regional planning.

I had a fun and interesting first career in a variety of public sector roles. While I grew up in a rural small town, I have lived on both the West and East Coasts.

Over time, I realized I wanted to connect with people more directly and put my own lived experience to meaningful use. So I took a hard left and returned to school to earn my Master of Social Work (CSU Chico). I feel honored to do this work, and to bring an unusual background to the table.

My behavioral health training clinical training includes work in private practice, schools, inpatient psychiatric crisis stabilization, and county behavioral health.

I opened my own practice in 2025 with the belief that therapy is a collaboration. I’m your nerdy, thoughtful, and careful teammate—trained as a therapist—and you are the expert on yourself. Together, we identify your goals, create a plan, and use safe, proven techniques to help you feel better and more fully yourself.

My approach to therapy

Research shows finding the right therapist is the key factor for success, that therapist you “vibe” with and feel safe with. So: I focus on rapport, and building trust. My style is personal, thorough, and welcoming—I use proven methods but always stay flexible and creative so we can find what works for you. Therapy can be tough sometimes (and I'll gently nudge you through those moments), but we'll keep things friendly and supportive every step of the way. Reaching out takes real courage, and you deserve a support on your path.

What you can expect from me

In your first session you'll have a chance to get to know me, explain what brings you to therapy, and begin building trust. We'll talk about your concerns, and I'll guide the conversation with thoughtful, gentle questions. Please ask any questions, any time—you're entitled to know about me, my approach, and how therapy works. If you choose to move forward, we'll develop a plan that fits your goals and schedule future sessions.
