Great to meet you!

You tell me where you want to go and I'll help you get there.

I use an eclectic approach drawing from many therapeutic treatments. I will suggest homework based on what we have processed in session.

I have had many years of life and clinical experience. I love people and I often use humor to get people unstuck.

I have worked as a therapist in outpatient psychiatry and private practice as well as several medical settings so I have experience in medical issues, grief and loss and life transitions.

My approach to therapy

My focus is on the goal you bring to therapy. We figure out where you want to be. We explore what brought you to the place you are now, what has worked in the past to achieve your goals and what obstacles need to be removed to again move forward. I am interactive and affirming of your strengths and resources and help you become more resilient. I use CBT and DBT(examining beliefs and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors), mindfulness and ACT(to observe, label and let go) and EMDR(to process and re-file trauma) or Exposure therapy to tackle fears and prevent avoidance.

What you can expect from me

My hope always is for clients to feel heard, validated, affirmed and empowered. Clients will come away with actions items or small steps to take that will lead them to the goals they set out to achieve.
