Great to meet you!

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult and geriatric care (65+), I provide comprehensive treatment for ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, OCD, personality disorders, PTSD and trauma, schizophrenia and psychosis disorders, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar conditions. My practice recognizes that mental health needs evolve throughout different stages of adult life.

I'm particularly skilled at helping adults who are discovering mental health conditions they've lived with for years without knowing it, as well as older adults facing the intersection of mental health and aging. Many of my patients are surprised to learn that their lifelong struggles with focus, social situations, or emotional regulation have names and effective treatments available.

My treatment approach is built on respect, patience, and understanding. I know that starting mental health treatment as an adult or older adult can feel intimidating, especially if you've had negative experiences with healthcare in the past. I work to create a comfortable environment where you can share your experiences openly without fear of judgment.

I believe in practical, realistic treatment plans that fit into your actual life. Whether you're working full-time, caring for family members, managing health conditions, or navigating retirement, we'll develop strategies that work for your specific situation. My goal is to help you feel more confident, capable, and satisfied with your daily life while managing any symptoms that interfere with your well-being.

It's never too late to seek support and improve your quality of life. Healing is possible at every age. I'm experienced in medication management for older adults and understand the unique considerations that come with aging and multiple health conditions.

My approach to therapy

To my mind, psychiatric care lives at the meeting point of rigorous clinical knowledge and real human warmth. All of my work is anchored in current psychiatry and neuroscience, yet offered with deep empathy and a sincere, enduring investment in your well-being. Each person I work with carries a story entirely their own, and I never take lightly the true courage it takes to share that story with me.

Partnership is the foundation of my practice. When you feel truly heard, real healing becomes possible. I share my clinical reasoning and recommendations with full transparency and sincerely welcome your questions, your concerns, and your active role in shaping your care. Whether we're weighing medication, evidence-based approaches, or meaningful lifestyle changes, you deserve to understand the thinking behind every option we consider together.

I recommend medication when the benefits clearly outweigh the risks, prefer conservative starting doses where that fits, and reassess consistently whether a treatment still serves your best interests. I also know that medication is seldom the entire answer. Together we'll build practical coping skills, gently reshape thought patterns that no longer serve you, and establish lasting routines that support your long-term health.

I hold a keen awareness of how trauma, chronic stress, relationships, and life circumstances shape your emotional well-being, and I bring genuine cultural sensitivity and authentic care into every interaction. I make a point of honoring each step forward, because progress need not be dramatic to carry true significance, and I want you to see your own resilience across the entire course of this journey.

I believe recovery is within reach for everyone, and I carry that conviction into every encounter. Understanding your aspirations and your daily realities matters deeply to me. You are so much more than a patient—you are a complete person, deserving of my full commitment.

What you can expect from me

From the outset, our first appointment serves one unmistakable purpose, ensuring you feel authentically heard, profoundly valued, and completely understood. We will look into what has drawn you here, whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, or other difficulties affecting your everyday life. I will ask purposeful questions to assemble a full portrait of your symptoms, their character, how often they occur, their strength, and what tends to set them off, alongside how long you have been affected, whether the picture is evolving, and what approaches you have already tried.

We will trace earlier diagnoses, your past treatment encounters, and how you responded to different medications or earlier clinical methods. If you have used these medications before, we will examine each one, identifying what it was, your duration on it, the prescribed dose, its effectiveness, and the reason it was stopped.

Your family's mental health background contributes yet another essential dimension, as genetic factors can markedly shape which treatments stand the greatest chance of helping you. Your wider medical profile weighs equally, since current health conditions, standing prescriptions, known allergies, seizure history, and physical symptoms all inform prescribing choices that are both safe and deliberately considered.

We will also explore your way of life, sleep routines, substance use, occupational demands, interpersonal relationships, and the available support systems. Your formative years, experiences with trauma, significant losses, and how you presently navigate stress and challenging emotions each represent vital pieces of this broader understanding.

After we have built a thorough foundation together, we will evaluate whether medication management is the fitting direction ahead. I will present my clinical observations transparently and guide you through any suggestions in plain, digestible language.
