Great to meet you!

Now accepting new clients. I am a transgender man and queer identified. Before becoming a therapist, I had previous work experience and years of study as a creative professional and educator. I value authenticity, a willingness and openness to learn, grow, heal, and live an empowered and sustainable life. I enjoy working with people from all stages of life from adolescents to older adults. I have in person availability on Mondays and Tuesdays to work with clients in person in Charlottesville. I offer virtual sessions via telehealth for clients throughout the State of Virginia and California.

My approach to therapy

I am passionate about supporting and working with transgender, gender expansive, and queer people. My approach to therapy is collaborative, affirming, and compassionate. It is my intent to create a safer space for you to explore your feelings, thoughts, inner life, and goals during our sessions together. You are the expert on your life and your identities. As a therapist of trans and queer experience, I bring the lived experience as a transgender man and queer identity in my role as a therapist. I offer support, validation of feelings, and create an empowering space for you to be seen, heard, and authentically celebrated. We will explore together what you want to focus on during therapy and receive support with. I utilize an eclectic approach that includes mindfulness, parts work, DBT, polyvagal, and trauma informed care. I utilize compassionate, holistic, and anti-oppressive frameworks in my practice. I value collaboration, authenticity, communication, empowerment, and compassion. I believe you are the expert on your life. I will work collaboratively with you to support your goals and your process. I offer virtual sessions for clients in Virginia and California. I now have in person session availability at my office on Mondays and Tuesdays for clients in the Charlottesville area. Please contact me with questions about scheduling.

What you can expect from me

You can expect curiosity, presence, compassion, warmth, and genuine interest in your authentic Self and your life's journey. We will explore your goals for therapy, review some of your history during the first session, explore your needs, current stressors, challenges, and strengths. We can explore expectations for the therapeutic relationship, discuss modalities, and discuss what works for you to create a safer space for your process. I can answer questions you have that may arise during the first session or you can schedule a free 15 minute consultation.
