Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Faith, and I am a licensed mental health counselor in the Daytona Beach area. I graduated from Walden University in 2017 with my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I spent the next couple of years working on my internship at a small private school that specialized in helping kids on the autism spectrum. It was here that I developed my passion for working with kids of all ages. I have spent the last few years working with community-based agencies that serve children and adults dealing with a wide variety of problems, such as individuals that have a trauma history or are struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, or gender confusion.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach consists of helping clients discover their best selves. Everyone's needs are different and that's why I prefer an integrative approach, utilizing multiple treatment modalities. I start my journey with each client using a client centered approach, offering a warm and caring environment. After learning more about the client’s needs, I will often pull techniques and strategies from multiple modalities including CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Psychoeducation, Bibliotherapy, TF-CBT, and SFT. Creativity is one of my specialties and I love creating treatment plans that are as unique as each client’s therapeutic needs. I believe in using all of the tools available to me to get the job done!

Change is inevitable and can leave you struggling as life's episodes can knock you off course or even create the need for a whole new course. Sometimes figuring out where to start is the hardest part, but you don't have to do it alone. I would love the opportunity to help you discover the tools and infrastructure for success in the next stages of your journey. I look forward to chatting with you soon!

What you can expect from me

During the first session, it is all about beginning to build the therapeutic bond. My goal is to make the process as comfortable as possible. Every client can expect from me a warm positive regard, an open and judgement free space, and a safe place to explore their thoughts and feelings. We will then move forward in explaining the therapeutic process, I will answer any questions, and we will begin exploring what brought them to seek services. I am patient and allow the client to set the pace so that they can feel comfortable and not pushed into anything.

My goal for the first session is to help the client feel as comfortable as possible while exploring their therapeutic needs. We will work together for the first couple of sessions to undercover what their needs are and create a treatment plan that addresses those needs. The environment in my office is calm with soft lighting, peaceful music, and relaxing smells. There are plush blankets, fidget toys, and sensory stickers available to help soothe and calm any pre-jitters. My hope is that you will find your sense of calm again, reconnect with your body, and feel grounded in who you truly are. You’ve been holding everything together for everyone else...while quietly feeling unseen or emotionally drained. It is time to you put yourself first and take care of your needs.

I work with clients who may be struggling with trauma from their past, families that can’t get along, or foster parents looking to adopt and facing a unique set of challenges. During our initial sessions we will build our relationship, examine the issues at hand and work together creating a plan that will help you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.
